Independent
Colleges and Universities: A National Profile
(2004)
Produced
every two to three years by NAICU, Independent
Colleges and Universities: A National Profile
offers a wealth of facts and statistics concerning private
higher education. As with the previous edition, the new National
Profile is built around the six words that we use to
summarize the key attributes of America’s private colleges
and universities: diverse, both in their missions and
in their students; more affordable than many people
realize; personal, in the support that they offer their
students; involved in meaningful ways in the world
beyond their campuses; flexible in the range of educational
needs they address; and successful in producing graduates
who go on to find success in their careers and their lives.
Many NAICU member institutions use the National Profile in
bulk with key constituencies (alumni and parent leadership,
faculty and staff, for example).
